John Akomfrah featured on the cover of Elephant's Autumn/Winter 2021 issue

The Autumn/Winter 2021 issue of Elephant features world-renowned British artist John Akomfrah on the cover of the magazine's special release edition.

For the cover story, Akomfrah and fellow artist Ayana V Jackson question each other about the places their art begins and the shared areas to which it is taking them.

“We didn’t quite understand then that the journey itself was the point,” Akomfrah tells Ayana V Jackson as the two talk to each other in Encounters. “There was no grand finale, no result, there would be no moment of epiphany.” Journeys of all forms traverse this issue.
