'Tony Cragg: Skulptura' at the Museum of Modern Art Dubrovnik, Croatia

17 July 2025

From 22 July – 5 October 2025, the Museum of Modern Art Dubrovnik will present 'Skulptura' a new exhibtion of works by Tony Cragg. Curated by Jelena Tamindžija Donnart of the Dubrovnik Art Gallery, with support from German art historian and curator Detmar Westhoff, the exhibition will showcase a broad selection of Cragg’s work, including around 30 sculptures, along with drawings and preparatory sketches. Spanning the first two floors and terraces of the historic Banac Palace, the exhibition will also extend into the garden area, offering a unique indoor-outdoor experience.

This exhibition marks his first-ever presentation to a Croatian audience, and is designed as a retrospective of Cragg’s decades-long career. It will include some of his iconic early works from 1985, featuring large-scale installations and floor mosaics that blur the line between natural and manmade landscapes.

A highlight of the show will be Cragg’s Early Forms series — monumental bronze, steel, corten, wood, fiberglass, and plastic sculptures that reimagine everyday objects and imbue them with new emotional and societal meanings.
