On 6 November, The inaugural edition of ArtFilm Festival Stockholm – launches under the theme of SHAME with site-responsive interventions featuring Cory Arcangel and Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg. Art Film Festival Stockholm is founded by Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg, internationally acclaimed Swedish artists and recipients of the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale (2009). Curated by Silvana Lagos, the festival is presented in collaboration with Artlover Magazine.
Layered across timelines and perspectives, it invites audiences to move through overlapping realities, all at once and in fragments. Conceived as both a public spectacle and deeply embedded as social construct, SHAME reflects a fractured, chaotic world. One that disciplines the body, silences truth, and cloaks vulnerability in performance. Transformed into a consumable shell, shame trades the promise of depth and integrity for spectacle, irony, fear, and fetish, the gloss of perversion. Shame can also be seductive: a liminal terrain where multiple realities, fantasy, and role-play collide and proliferate.
Each participating artist engages moving image as both medium and format, twisting narrative, imagination, and documentation. Their works push the boundaries between reality and fantasy, questioning how we create and navigate social forms, both internally and externally. Unveiled histories retold. The result is a charged environment where lines between truth and illusion, self and performance, are blurred beyond recognition. At a time when our attention spans have become inverted, the emotive environment shaped by the multiple narratives, unfolding across the vacant oGice building, forms a pulsating, dynamic landscape.
