Sean Scully's Eleuthera series presented at CAC Málaga
10 December 2019
The Center for Contemporary Art in Málaga, Spain, is presenting new works from Sean Scully's Eleuthera series. While primarily recognised for his highly expressive abstract paintings, this recent body of work, created in 2016 and 2017, explores Scully's return to figuration and is centred around a very private subject, Scully’s son, depicted in the paintings playing at the beach on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Curated by Elisabeth Dutz and Helena Juncosa, the presentation features more than forty works including large format paintings, photographs and drawings.
On view now, the exhibition continues through 19 January 2020. For more information visit cacmalaga.eu.
