From 21 June to 22 September, the Église-Saint-Nicolas in Caen, France, hosts an exhibition by Sean Scully as part of the Normandie Impressionists Festival.
With his work combining a certain form of pictorial drama with immense visual pleasure, the intimate and the monumental will form the axis of Scully's project for Normandie Impressionniste.
The Saint-Nicolas church in Caen, with its refined Romanesque beauty, is the setting for a Scully's presentation comprising large-format paintings and monumental sculptures. The project is free and open to all, marking a celebration of one of the greatest American artists to lay the grounds for modern painting.
