Lisson Artists featured in 'The Warmth and Depth of Paper Media' at the Shanghai Powerlong Museum

Until 7 December 2026, the Shanghai Powerlong Museum presents group exhibition The Warmth and Depth of Paper Media, featuring works on paper by Allora & Calzadilla, Ding Yi, Christopher Le Brun, Richard Long and Anish Kapoor.

The exhibition examines the role of the paper medium in a digital age, celebrating its materiality and fragility as its core strength. Despite its inherent limitations—its tendency to yellow and crinkle, and its acute sensitivity to the environment—the very transience and tangibility of paper endow it with a unique authenticity and warmth. In this sense, the artists are not merely creating images but engaging in a practice and negotiation of presence. Here, those seemingly ordinary sheets reveal themselves as fields of unlimited creative energy.
