John Akomfrah photograph included in UNHCR's Art and Resilience Benefit Auction

John Akomfrah has donated an artwork for the USA for UNHCR Humanitarian Coalition’s Art and Resilience Benefit Auction in aid of Syrian refugees, closing 30 April at 12pm EDT.

USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, serves vulnerable people around the world who have been forced to flee their homes because of violence, conflict and persecution. The Humanitarian Coalition is comprised of next generation philanthropists and business leaders who are working to further USA for UNHCR’s mission by helping raise funds and awareness.

All proceeds from the online auction, which includes Akomfrah’s photograph titled The Enigma of Arrival, One, will provide lifesaving support to the 6.6 million Syrian refugees who continue to show strength and perseverance in the face of incredible challenges, ten years since the conflict began.
