On 3 December, The Bass Museum of Art presents Jack Pierson in conversation with Klaus Biesenbach as part of Jack Pierson: The Miami Years.
To mark Jack Pierson’s Art Week Miami Beach debut, James Voorhies, Curator-at-Large at The Bass, introduces a conversation with the Massachusetts-born artist Jack Pierson. Jack Pierson: The Miami Years is the first exhibition devoted to exploring the city’s transformative impact on Pierson’s life and work. The artist’s initial excursion from New York City to Miami Beach in the winter of 1984 instigated many return visits over the years.
The program will open with an introductory overview of The Miami Years, a series of annual solo exhibitions organized to examine Miami’s impact on a single artist, with this year devoted to Jack Pierson. Presenting conversations with leading voices in contemporary art, The Bass Dialogues series brings together artists, curators, and thought leaders who are shaping the current landscape.
