Haroon Mirza premieres new immersive performance at Brighton Festival
1 May 2018
Artists Haroon Mirza, Jack Jelfs, Elijah (grime DJ/Producer) and GAIKA (Artist/Musician) invite us to imagine culture 2,000 years in the future through a new performance, Last Dance: The Wave Epoch, premiering at Brighton Festival 2018 on 24 May.
Devised and created earlier this year at the world’s largest scientific experiment – the Large Hadron Collider at CERN (LHC) – the immersive performance imagines a scenario where the collider has been rediscovered by a future civilisation and turned into a ceremonial site, similar to Stonehenge. Exploring how our perception of purpose-built locations evolve over time, the artists look to ritualistic tendencies of humankind and question how these landscapes may be reinterpreted.
Last Dance: The Wave Epoch will be performed at Brighton's Brighthelm community centre and the Lighthouse on 24 May at 2pm and 7pm. Click here for more information.
