Cory Arcangel participates in Art Basel Talks programme in 'Digital Dialogues', 13 June
6 June 2024
Art Basel’s Second Digital day takes place on Thursday 13 June, uniting some of the leading thinkers in the space where tech meets art. A series of three panel discussions will explore how art is reclaiming public spaces, how algorithms shape art collecting today, and how a new breed of institutions is placing cutting-edge art in the heart of the city. An exclusive installation viewing by TAEX showcasing an immersive experience by Krista Kim will accompany the programme.
From 4pm, Cory Arcangel participates with Krista Kim in Panel 1, 'Digital art: transforming public spaces, pixel by pixel'. Both artist's works have taken over Times Squares outsize electronic billboards, placing digital art in the heart of New York’s busiest plaza, and introducing the public to novel ways of art-making. Along with moderator Alex Estorick, Editor in Chief of Right Click Save, the two will discuss how digital art can reshape public space and introduce new ways of seeing and new meanings to the urban environment.
