Christopher Le Brun and Julian Opie included in first Jinan International Biennial

Works by more than 100 contemporary artists from over 20 countries worldwide will be displayed in a 30,000-square-meter exhibition venue in Shandong Art Museum and Jinan Art Museum, China, as part of first Jinan International Biennial. Titled Power of Harmony, the exhibition looks at one of the core concepts of Confucianism, which originated in Shandong, and includes Christopher Le Brun and Julian Opie. It is on view from 12 December 2020 to 31 March 2021.

Power of Harmony means to gain energy from the Confucian idea of Harmony and to explore a more pluralistic and effective contemporary way of thinking, so as to gain motivation and promote mutual understanding between Chinese and Western cultures and promote mutual learning and integration between pluralistic civilizations. The biennial is curated by Fan Di'an, president of the China Artists Association and President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and Zhang Wang, president of the Shandong Artists Association and Director of the Shandong Art Museum.
