Christian Jankowski curates the Academiae Biennale in Franzensfeste, Italy
4 July 2018
Christian Jankowski curates the 2018 Academiae Biennale, opening on 7 July in Franzensfeste, Italy and running until 31 October 2018.
Titled 'Where Plato Taught', the second edition of the biennale has been inspired by the teachings of the great Greek philosopher Plato. It will be hosted at the Franzensfeste Provincial Museum and will feature works by young artists from the leading art academies in Europe and beyond, selected by their professors who are themselves established artists.
Jankowski, who teaches at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart, Germany, says: "I want to make the Biennale a place where differing conceptions of teaching become art." In this way, Jankowski will create an exhibition that becomes a space for encounters between widely differing approaches and trends in the most recent contemporary artistic production, while at the same time, analysing the potential for the latest training methods in the field of art.
