Announcing Lisson Gallery's new space in New York City
6 March 2020
Lisson Gallery is pleased to announce an expansion in New York's Chelsea neighbourhood this spring. Located at 508 West 24th Street, between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues, the new gallery is directly next door to the current New York flagship at 504 West 24th Street. The space is designed by StudioMDA, the firm who, in collaboration with Studio Christian Wassmann, constructed the current gallery. The consolidation on West 24th Street features an additional 5,000 square feet of exhibition space, viewing rooms and offices to Lisson Gallery's expanding New York footprint.
An exhibition by Ryan Gander will inaugurate 508 West 24th Street, opening on Tuesday 5 May. This will be followed in the summer with an installation by Haroon Mirza.
The gallery will serve an important role in Lisson's programming, continuing to offer the diverse configurations and intimate proportions best suited for smaller scale works, video projections, installation and performance.
With the consolidation, Lisson Gallery's 138 Tenth Avenue space will close, following the completion of the current exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Joanna Pousette-Dart, on view through 18 April.
