ENQUIRE

Lisson Gallery Los Angeles is honored to present a solo exhibition by renowned Colombian artist Olga de Amaral. Spanning from the 1970s through 2018, this focused survey offers a rare opportunity to engage deeply with Amaral’s singular language of form, material, and abstraction, through landmark works that mark key developments in her influential, six-decade career. Internationally celebrated for redefining the boundaries between fiber, sculpture, and painting, Amaral has developed a unique visual and material vocabulary that transforms traditional weaving into immersive, sculptural statements. She interlaces linen, wool, horsehair, raffia, Japanese paper, acrylic, gold and silver leaf, to create works that shimmer with historical, spiritual, and environmental resonance. This timely exhibition follows Amaral's inclusion in Woven Histories at LACMA in 2023-2024, as well as her critically acclaimed traveling retrospective, which opened at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art comtemporain in 2024 and travelled to the ICA Miami in 2025.
