Olga de Amaral
Los Angeles, 14 November 2025 - January 2026

Lisson Gallery Los Angeles welcomes the return of renowned artist Olga de Amaral, whose groundbreaking work has pushed the boundaries of weaving since the 1960s, with her first solo exhibition in the city in over a decade. Spanning works from the 1970s to 2018, the exhibition features iconic pieces from her practice, including a shimmering Memento (2016), a towering Nudo, and a rare Paisaje de calicanto (1983), the colors of which reference the artist's native Colombian landscape. Highlighting Amaral’s masterful use of materials—horsehair, wool, linen, raffia, Japanese paper, acrylic paint and gold leaf—the show follows her her inclusion in Woven Histories at LACMA in 2023-2024 as well as her critically acclaimed traveling retrospective, which opened at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art comtemporain in 2024 and is now on view at ICA Miami.
