Anish Kapoor

Anish Kapoor will present his first solo exhibition with Lisson Shanghai, debuting a new series of paintings on paper. Known for his rigorous experimentation with materials and his ability to conjure uncanny sensory experiences, Kapoor’s practice defies genres by seamlessly blending sculptural and painterly approaches. A cornerstone in the history of British and global contemporary art, his works distort physical space, allegorize the materiality of human flesh, and interrogate the mysterious processes of visual perception. This exhibition follows Kapoor’s highly acclaimed dual retrospective at the Gallerie dell’Accademia and the Palazzo Manfrin in Venice in 2022, and the exhibition at Lisson New York in Fall 2023.
