Joseph Yaeger is an artist attuned to the vagaries of contemporary cultural memory. His practice can be thought of as a parallel investigation into the fetishization of images in contemporary libidinal economies, and into painting’s contemporaneous agency through the transformation and circulation of the visible.
Yaeger received an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London in 2019. Recent exhibitions include ‘Present Tense’, Hauser & Wirth, Somerset, UK (2023);‘Silent Treatment’, Project Native Informant, London (2023); ‘Time Weft’, The Perimeter, London (2023); ‘Just a Second’, Antenna Space, Shanghai (2022); ‘Doublespeak’, Project Native Informant, London (2021).
